What Barnex works with

Barnex works with Deye, Growatt and Victron hybrid inverters, and others are added with a JSON map without new firmware. EV chargers: OCPP 1.6J, ElectroS, Sungrow, Teltonika, Eveus. Up to 10 boilers with a resistive element. Single-phase mains.

Inverters

BrandSupportModels
DeyeNative supporthybrid, SG01HP3 3-phase HV, SG04LP3 3-phase LVNative support: Modbus TCP and the Solarman V5 logger protocol. Reads PV, load, grid, battery, SOC, voltage and energy counters. On three-phase models, control and breaker protection use one phase only (L1).
GrowattNative supportGEN4 hybrid (TL-XH), SPH-6000Native support with automatic identification.
VictronNative supportCerbo/Venus GXNative support through Cerbo/Venus GX.
Luxpower / EG4Via a JSON mapLXP/SNA hybrid (EG4)Through a JSON register map, Modbus RTU.
SRNEVia a JSON mapHF2430U60-100Through a JSON register map, Modbus RTU.

Teltonika TeltoChargeNative supportModbus TCPControl over Modbus TCP.
EveusNative supportHTTP JSONOver HTTP JSON; the map is still being verified on real hardware.
HTTP-JSON charger from barnex-mapsVia a JSON mapHTTP JSONAny charger with a published map in the bobyk/barnex-maps repository pairs without new firmware.

Loads

  • Boiler with smooth regulation

A resistive heating element through an SSR, a step of about 1%.

  • Relay-type load

Heat pump, air conditioner, pump: only 0 or 100%.

  • EV charger

    Current from 6 to 32 A, single-phase mains, up to 4 chargers.

What else you may need

  • A boiler node if you want to heat a boiler with Lite: Lite has no power output of its own.
  • An inverter reachable over Modbus (Deye, Growatt, Victron or another with a JSON map).
  • An EV charger from the compatibility list.

It suits you if

  • You have single-phase mains
  • A hybrid inverter reachable over Modbus: Deye, Growatt, Victron, or any with a JSON map
  • From one to ten boilers with a resistive heating element
  • An EV charger from the compatibility list (OCPP 1.6J, ElectroS, Sungrow, Teltonika, Eveus)
  • You want control that works without the cloud or internet

It does not suit you if

  • Three-phase EV charging or three-phase breaker protection: planned, only single-phase mains today
  • An inverter without Modbus access: Lite needs it, own CT clamps arrive with DIN and Power
  • An inverter that cannot be set to output priority Solar, Grid, Battery: heating stays blocked until the installer confirms
  • You need protection against switching on with an empty tank: there is none, only the tank temperature limit
  • One boiler on a tight budget: Solar Vampire costs less

Sales start at the end of February. Features are being finalised, so details may be refined.
